AASPT Special Interest Groups (SIGs)
Where Community, Expertise, and Leadership Come Together
Special Interest Groups (SIGs) are one of the most meaningful ways AASPT members deepen their connection to the profession and to one another. Each SIG brings together clinicians who share a passion for a specific area of sports physical therapy, creating a space where members can learn, collaborate, and grow alongside peers who understand their interests and challenges.
SIGs are more than topic-based communities—they are hubs of shared expertise, mentorship, and professional identity. Whether you're looking to expand your clinical knowledge, contribute to emerging conversations in the field, or build relationships with colleagues who inspire you, SIGs offer a direct pathway to deeper engagement within AASPT.
We encourage all members to join at least one SIG to enrich their experience and strengthen their connection to the broader sports physical therapy community.

Why SIGs Matter
SIGs give members the opportunity to:
- Connect with peers who share similar clinical interests
- Engage in meaningful discussions about emerging evidence and best practices
- Access community-driven insights that support real-world clinical decision-making
- Build relationships that can lead to mentorship, collaboration, and leadership opportunities
- Contribute to the advancement of sports physical therapy within a focused specialty area
For many members, SIGS become the heart of their AASPT experience—a place where they feel seen, supported, and part of something larger than themselves.
How SIGs Work
SIGs are open to all AASPT members. You may join as many as you wish, and participation is flexible—whether you prefer to listen, contribute, volunteer, or lead, there is a space for you.
Each SIG operates with its own leadership structure and communications rhythm, offering opportunities for members to get involved at the level that feels right. SIGs often share updates, resources, and opportunities for engagment throughout the year, helping members stay connected to the latest developments in their specialty.
